- To the nourisher of devotees even with slight devotion - salutations to Shiva.
- माकरन्दसारवर्षिभाषिणे नमः शिवाय
- To the speaker raining essence of honey-wine - salutations to Shiva.
- एकबिल्वदानतोऽपि तोषिणे नमः शिवाय
- To one pleased even by a single bilva offering - salutations to Shiva.
- नैकजन्मपापजालशोषिणे नमः शिवाय
- To the dryer of many births' sin-webs - salutations to Shiva.
A little bhakti, one bilva leaf, or a word of honeyed teaching suffices for Shiva's pleasure. He dries sin-webs across births because the Name works on consciousness, not on quantity of ritual.
