मुदाकरात्तमोदकं सदाविमुक्तिसाधकं कलाधरावतंसकं विलासिलोकरक्षकम् । (विलासिलोकरञ्जकम्) अनायकैकनायकं विनाशितेभदैत्यकं नताशुभाशुनाशकं नमामि तं विनायकम् ॥१॥

Word breakdown

मुदाकरात्तमोदकं सदाविमुक्तिसाधकं: He who joyfully takes modaka and ever accomplishes liberation.
कलाधरावतंसकं विलासिलोकरक्षकम् । (विलासिलोकरञ्जकम्): Adorned with the crescent moon, protector and delighter of devotees.
अनायकैकनायकं विनाशितेभदैत्यकं: The sole leader of the leaderless, destroyer of the elephant demon.
नताशुभाशुनाशकं नमामि तं विनायकम्: Destroyer of misfortune for the bowed; I bow to that Vinayaka.

Liberation and worldly joy are not opposed when the mind rests in the Lord who is beyond both. The modaka he accepts is the offering of ego, sweet when surrendered at his feet.
