Ganesha Pancharatnam

Ganesha Pancharatnam, the "Five Jewels" to Ganesha, is among the most widely chanted short hymns attributed to Sri Adi Shankaracharya. Composed in elegant Sanskrit, it praises Vinayaka as the giver of lasting liberation, protector of devotees, and destroyer of obstacles inner and outer.

Each verse gathers a distinct facet of the Lord: his mudakara form, his sovereignty over gods and treasures, his compassion and brilliance, his triumph over pride, and his presence as the one-tusked reality meditated within the yogin's heart. The hymn moves naturally from outer praise to inner contemplation, a hallmark of Shankara's stotras.

This edition presents the five main verses of the Pancharatnam, omitting the separate phala shruti verse sometimes appended in traditional paddhatis. It is suited to morning opening prayer, study commencement, and daily remembrance of the Lord who clears the path to the sacred text.
