संसारकूपमतिघोरमगाधमूलं सम्प्राप्य दुःखशतसर्पसमाकुलस्य दीनस्य देव कृपया पदमागतस्य शरणागतस्य लक्ष्मीनृसिंह मम देहि करावलम्बम् ॥४॥

The deep pit of worldly existence and serpents of sorrow image bondage to the body-mind. Surrender at the Lord's feet is the recognition that only grace can raise one from the pit.
