Word breakdown
- Who shines with radiance as if the Kaustubha nearby wished to see secretly,
- from rising love, entirely the throat-held poison of the lord of beings on high,
- whom the mountain-daughter, moist with love, drinks with overflowing fortune,
- worlds reddened at the end by whose lower-lip splendor - may that lower lip be yours.
The lower lip where Parvati drinks the nectar of poison turned wine is the meeting of Shiva and Shakti, destroyer and grace. What the world sees as deadly becomes the overflow of bliss when known as the Self's own nature.
