सहस्राण्डभोक्ता त्वया शूरनामा हतस्तारकः सिंहवक्त्रश्च दैत्यः । ममान्तर्हृदिस्थं मनःक्लेशमेकं न हंसि प्रभो किं करोमि क्व यामि ॥२३॥

Word breakdown
- सहस्राण्डभोक्ता त्वया शूरनामा
- Taraka, named the hero who seized a thousand universes, was slain by you;
- हतस्तारकः सिंहवक्त्रश्च दैत्यः ।
- the lion-faced demon too was killed;
- ममान्तर्हृदिस्थं मनःक्लेशमेकं
- yet the single mental anguish dwelling in my inner heart
- न हंसि प्रभो किं करोमि क्व यामि
- you do not destroy, O Lord - what shall I do? Where shall I go?
Taraka and other foes were slain, yet inner mental sorrow remains; where else can one turn? External demons are conquered but the inner affliction needs the Lord's healing grace.
