From which, striding the sky, stretching like a flagstaff on Garuda's jeweled rock,
dripping, shone the pure divine river, lovely as the Vaijayanti garland,
the one on earth, the other, gave us the splendor of a great pillar of the world-house,
may these two feet of the lotus-eyed one, soft as the lotus-belly, protect us.

One foot strides the sky, the other stands as earth's pillar, and from them flows the pure Ganga of liberation. The lotus-soft feet of the Lord are the two aspects of reality, transcendence and immanence, united in the one Self the devotee seeks.
