शिवः शक्त्या युक्तो यदि भवति शक्तः प्रभवितुं न चेदेवं देवो न खलु कुशलः स्पन्दितुमपि । अतस्त्वामाराध्यां हरिहरविरिञ्चादिभिरपि प्रणन्तुं स्तोतुं वा कथमकृतपुण्यः प्रभवति ॥१॥

- शिवः शक्त्या युक्तो यदि भवति शक्तः प्रभवितुं
- if Shiva, united with Shakti, becomes able to create
- न चेदेवं देवो न खलु कुशलः स्पन्दितुमपि ।
- if not thus, the Lord is not skilled even to stir
- अतस्त्वामाराध्यां हरिहरविरिञ्चादिभिरपि
- therefore You, worshipped by Hari, Hara, Brahma and others
- प्रणन्तुं स्तोतुं वा कथमकृतपुण्यः प्रभवति ॥१॥
- how can one devoid of merit bow to or praise You
Consciousness without power cannot manifest; Shiva and Shakti are not two realities but one. Worship itself becomes possible only when the devotee recognizes the source from which both seeker and sought arise.
