Word breakdown

The universe, like a city seen in a mirror, is within one's own self.
Seeing it in the Self as though arisen outside by maya, as in sleep.
Who realizes directly at awakening one's own Self alone as non-dual.
To that blessed Guru-form, to Sri Dakshinamurti, this salutation.

The world appears outside through maya yet abides within like a reflection in a mirror. Awakening is the direct recognition that the non-dual Self alone is real.
