शम्बरवैरिशरातिगमम्बुजदलविपुललोचनोदारम् । कम्बुगलमनिलदिष्टं बिम्बज्वलितोष्ठमेकमवलम्बे ॥३॥
Foe of Sambara's enemy, noble with eyes wide as lotus petals, conch-like neck, appointed by the Wind, with lips bright as the bimba fruit; in him alone I take refuge.

Refuge in the noble servant of the Lord is refuge in the ideal of selfless action performed without claim. Wide lotus eyes see the world as the play of the one reality, not as a field of separate interests.
