सदा मोहाटव्यां चरति युवतीनां कुचगिरौ नटत्याशाशाखास्वटति झटिति स्वैरमभितः कपालिन् भिक्षो मे हृदयकपिमत्यन्तचपलं दृढं भक्त्या बद्ध्वा शिव भवदधीनं कुरु विभो ॥२०॥

- नटत्याशाशाखास्वटति झटिति स्वैरमभितः
- dancing on branches of hope, running about freely
- कपालिन् भिक्षो मे हृदयकपिमत्यन्तचपलं
- O Kapalin, beggar, my heart-monkey is exceedingly restless
- दृढं भक्त्या बद्ध्वा शिव भवदधीनं कुरु विभो
- bind it firmly with devotion and make it dependent on You, O Lord
The restless heart-monkey roams the forest of desire. Binding it with devotion to Shiva is the practice of turning scattered mind toward the one Lord in whom thought finds stable refuge.
