लसत्स्वर्णगेहे नृणां कामदोहे
In a shining golden house granting men's desires,
सुमस्तोमसञ्छन्नमाणिक्यमञ्चे ।
on a ruby couch covered with heaps of flowers,
समुद्यत्सहस्रार्कतुल्यप्रकाशं
shining equal to a thousand risen suns,
सदा भावये कार्तिकेयं सुरेशम्
I always meditate Kartikeya, lord of gods.

In a golden chamber on a ruby cot, Kartikeya shines like a thousand suns and grants desires. Meditation on the Lord's splendour fills the heart with the light that outshines every worldly lamp.
