Word breakdown
- शिवं नित्यमेकं विभुं तारकाख्यं
- Auspicious, eternal, one, all-pervading, named Taraka,
- सुखाकारमाकारशून्यं सुमान्यम् ।
- of blissful form yet without form, most honourable;
- महेशं कलेशं सुरेशं परेशं
- great Lord, Lord of time, Lord of gods, supreme Lord,
- नरेशं निरीशं महीशं प्रपद्ये
- Lord of men, without a lord, Lord of the earth - in him I take refuge.
Taraka is the name that ferries across; formless bliss is the goal the forms of worship serve. Lordship without a second lord is Advaita spoken in the language of praise.
