स्तुतिं ध्यानमर्चां यथावद्विधातुं भजन्नप्यजानन्महेशावलम्बे त्रसन्तं सुतं त्रातुमग्रे मृकण्डो र्यमप्राणनिर्वापणं त्वत्पदाब्जम् ॥१४॥

- Unable to perform worship, meditation, and ritual properly,
- भजन्नप्यजानन्महेशावलम्बे
- yet worshipping, unknowing, I depend on Mahesha;
- त्रसन्तं सुतं त्रातुमग्रे मृकण्डो
- Markandeya, to save his terrified son standing before him,
- र्यमप्राणनिर्वापणं त्वत्पदाब्जम्
- extinguished Yama's life-force at your lotus feet.
Even imperfect worship reaches Mahesha when offered with dependence. Markandeya's father found that the Lord's feet alone could extinguish death's messenger, revealing Shiva as conqueror of time.
