शिवेशानतत्पूरुषाघोरवामा दिभिः पञ्चभिर्हृन्मुखैः षड्भिरङ्गैः अनौपम्य षट्त्रिंशतं तत्त्वविद्या मतीतं परं त्वां कथं वेत्ति को वा ॥४॥

- with six limbs and heart-faces,
- अनौपम्य षट्त्रिंशतं तत्त्वविद्या
- beyond the incomparable thirty-six tattvas known to the wise,
- मतीतं परं त्वां कथं वेत्ति को वा
- how can anyone know you, the supreme?
The thirty-six tattvas cannot compass the supreme Lord known only to the wise. Philosophical categories map the manifest world but fall short of the reality that is their source.
