- to Mridani and to Mrida, to destroyer of sin and of sacrifice,
- शिवाङ्ग्यै शिवाङ्गाय कुर्मः शिवायै
- to She who shares Shiva's body and to Shiva's body,
- शिवायाम्बिकायै नमस्त्र्यम्बकाय
- we do obeisance to Shiva and Ambika, to the three-eyed one.
Shiva and Shakti are saluted as mother, father, and the unity beyond duality. Worship of the divine couple honours both the stillness and the power through which the world is known.
