जराजन्मगर्भाधिवासादिदुःखा न्यसह्यानि जह्यां जगन्नाथ देव भवन्तं विना मे गतिर्नैव शम्भो दयालो न जागर्ति किं वा दया ते ॥३१॥

- may I abandon them, O Lord of the world;

- without you I have no refuge at all, Shambhu;
- दयालो न जागर्ति किं वा दया ते
- O merciful one, does your compassion not awaken?
Unbearable pains of old age and rebirth demand refuge in Shambhu alone. The devotee's cry awakens the question: will the merciful Lord's compassion respond?
