मम न भजनशक्तिः पादयोस्ते न भक्ति- र्न च विषयविरक्तिर्ध्यानयोगे न सक्तिः । इति मनसि सदाहं चिन्तयन्नाद्यशक्ते रुचिरवचनपुष्पैरर्चनं संचिनोमि ॥१॥

- मम न भजनशक्तिः पादयोस्ते न भक्ति-
- I have no power to worship, no devotion at your feet,
- र्न च विषयविरक्तिर्ध्यानयोगे न सक्तिः ।
- nor dispassion toward sense-objects, nor aptitude in meditation and yoga.
- इति मनसि सदाहं चिन्तयन्नाद्यशक्ते
- thus thinking always in my mind, O primal Power,
- रुचिरवचनपुष्पैरर्चनं संचिनोमि ॥१॥
- I gather worship with flowers of beautiful words.
Honest confession of inadequacy is itself the opening of true worship. When the devotee knows that capacity and devotion come from the Goddess alone, the offering of words becomes an act of surrender rather than pride.
