उत्तुङ्गालयविस्फुरन्मरकतप्रोद्यत्प्रभामण्डला- न्यालोक्याङ्कुरितोत्सवैर्नवतृणाकीर्णस्थलीशङ्कया । नीतो वाजिभिरुत्पथं बत रथः सूतेन तिग्मद्युते- र्वल्गावल्गितहस्तमस्तशिखरं कष्टैरितः प्राप्यते ॥९॥

- उत्तुङ्गालयविस्फुरन्मरकतप्रोद्यत्प्रभामण्डला-
- Seeing the sphere of emerald radiance rising from the lofty abode,
- न्यालोक्याङ्कुरितोत्सवैर्नवतृणाकीर्णस्थलीशङ्कया ।
- the horses, mistaking fresh grass for that splendour, are led astray,
- नीतो वाजिभिरुत्पथं बत रथः सूतेन तिग्मद्युते-
- and the chariot, driven by the sharp-rayed charioteer,
- र्वल्गावल्गितहस्तमस्तशिखरं कष्टैरितः प्राप्यते ॥९॥
- reaches the waving peak of Mount Meru only with difficulty.
The chariot journey shows how even celestial horses confuse the world's green with the Goddess's radiance. So the mind mistakes appearances for reality until disciplined worship leads it to the summit of insight.
