यदापारमच्छायमस्थानमद्भि र्जनैर्वा विहीनं गमिष्यामि मार्गम् तदा तं निरुन्धन्कृतान्तस्य मार्गं महादेव मह्यं मनोज्ञं प्रयच्छ ॥२६॥

- When I shall go on the path boundless, shadeless,
- र्जनैर्वा विहीनं गमिष्यामि मार्गम्
- without support, devoid of people,
- तदा तं निरुन्धन्कृतान्तस्य मार्गं
- then block that path of Death
- महादेव मह्यं मनोज्ञं प्रयच्छ
- and grant me a pleasant one, O great God.
On the lonely path to death, without shade or companion, the devotee asks Shiva to block Yama's road and grant a pleasant passage. The Lord who conquered death becomes the guide on the final journey.
